AS&E receives two service and maintenance contracts

American Science and Engineering (AS&E) has been awarded a contract from a government agency to provide service and maintenance of AS&E X-ray inspection systems.

Under the $11.2m multi-year indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, the company will provide service and maintenance of AS&E X-ray inspection systems in support of counter-drug and anti-terrorism missions for the government agency.

AS&E will provide support services including all maintenance services, logistics, parts, and program management required to sustain the agency’s inspection systems.

AS&E president and CEO Chuck Dougherty said the new contract will ensure customer’s detection systems perform at optimal levels continuously.

The AS&E systems have demonstrated earlier their ability to quickly and safely detect threats and contraband in trucks and passenger vehicles.

"We have worked closely with our client to meet their requirements, and we are very proud to continue to play an important role in their critical counter-drug and anti-terrorism missions," Dougherty added.

In a separate contract, the company also received $2.3m contract from a government agency to provide service, maintenance, and spare parts to support cargo and vehicle inspection systems.

Chuck Dougherty said, "This agreement ensures that our customer will receive the critical spare parts that are vital to maintaining their cargo inspection systems at peak levels of operation."
