Olaeris to install AEVA UAS for emergency response missions

Olaeris has developed new AEVA unmanned aerial system (UAS) for emergency response, aimed to reduce the services cost by at least one $1m per year, per city.

The company will deploy the UAV across five areas in US each made up of three adjacent cities or counties to prove that the UAV’s will reduce $15M for the government.

Capable of deploying within 90 seconds, the USA can train city personnel to use them in 911 emergency responses including 911 police or fire emergency with average national response time of 8.5 minutes.

Olaeris Engineering vice president Paul Pounds said, "Our technology can help all emergency responders reduce crime, save lives and protect the public.

"This means improved service and reduced cost, which benefits everybody," Pounds added.

Commenting on the UAS impact on costs, Olaeris CEO Ted Lindsley said, "There is a lot more at stake here than improved services and budget reductions for the cities we select."

"These areas could become a Silicon Valley of the UAV industry with global outreach," Lindsley stated.

The company is likely to choose each of the US areas selected for deployment as its regional hub for global operations including manufacturing, maintenance, operations and training through the programme.

The firm has received interest from over 20 countries since the UAS technology launch in June 2012.
