Logos, Maverick and Global Velocity aim to safeguard SCADA systems against cyber attacks

Logos Technologies has signed a joint development agreement (JDA) with Global Velocity and Maverick Technologies to develop a solution set, aimed to protect US critical infrastructure from potential cyber attacks.

Under the agreement, the three companies will integrate their expertise in cyber security, industrial controls and complex system integration to develop a Cyber Sensor Integration (CSI) solution.

The CSI solution will protect supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, which remotely monitor and control industrial processes at nuclear plants, sewage treatment facilities and other crucial sites.

Featuring innovative techniques, the comprehensive CSI-SCADA software solution will also seek continuous expert support and an understanding of attacker profiles to combat a threat before attacks.

Global Velocity CEO Greg Sullivan said that the company will seek a convergence of cyber attacks on industrial control systems so that the result will be holistic and collaborative as possible, while protecting physical infrastructure from hackers.

Logos Technologies National Security Services director Frank Purdy said, "Properly securing SCADA systems requires the right mix of capabilities and experience."

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been providing guidance and issuing warnings to the industries using SCADA systems, while actively monitoring software vulnerabilities.

Logos serves the US Department of Defense, US Department of Energy and the US Department of Homeland Security in the fields of biofuel research, advanced nuclear engineering, cyber defence and Intelligent Persistent Surveillance.
