Affigent secures contract from FirstSource II

US-based IT solutions provider Affigent has secured contract, with a ceiling value of $3bn, from Department of Homeland Security’s FirstSource II.

FirstSource II is a multi agency, which helps DHS Programs, and a centralised small business vehicle to procure commercially available IT commodities.

As part of the deal, Affigent will provide a full array of VAR services for IT commodities, for a period of five years with two additional one-year option periods.

The services include configuration consulting and design, systems integration and installation of multi-vendor equipment.

The company will also offer services like product technical support, customisation of hardware or software, training, product maintenance and end-user support to DHS.

Affigent strategic programs and operations vice president Joe Bycina said the company is advising multiple government agencies on IT for over a decade.

"Our deep knowledge of IT and government needs will help DHS achieve their mission with minimal risk, complexity and cost," Bycina added.

Affigent has also been providing services to US Federal Government since 2003.
