GAC Motor delivers 150 GA3Ss to Nigerian police force

Guangzhou Automobile Group Motor (GAC Motor), a subsidiary of GAC Group, has delivered 150 GA3Ss to the police force in Abuja, Nigeria.

Aliko Dangote Foundation chairman Alhaji Aliko Dangote bought and donated 150 GA3Ss to the Nigerian police force.

GAC Motor has delivered cars to the Nigerian police for the second time. The first delivery was made in 2015 following an order from the Lagos police department.

GAC Motor claimed that this bulk purchase of cars is a further recognition of its growth in the African market, as well as, affirmation of the quality and safety standards of its vehicles.

GAC Motor president Yu Jun said: “GAC Motor has successfully brought a variety of signature models to Nigeria, gaining bulk purchase orders from local governments for showing its quality and positive brand image. This latest cooperation will accelerate our further development in the Nigerian market.”

GA3Ss style, design and customised smart safety features are claimed to cater to the complex requirements of police vehicles.

GAC Motor optimises vehicle designs according to the local road conditions to offer reliable quality and performance.

Most of the company’s car models have been designed to meet the required performance on bumpy and muddy roads. For instance, higher chassis are added to increase passing clearance.

GAC started its first dealer shop in Nigeria in December 2014, and a second in 2016. It also opened a semi knocked-down (SKD) factory in Nigeria in 2016, thereby becoming the first Chinese auto brand to have parts assembled locally. A year later, Nasarawa state government made a bulk purchase of GS8s, GS4s and GA3Ss as official reception vehicles. In February this year, the company launched its signature model GS8 in Nigeria.
