MacB to provide support services to US Customs and Border Protection Office

US-based provider of security solutions and services MacAulay-Brown (MacB) has secured a contract to support the US Customs and Border Protection Office of Technology Innovation and Acquisition (CBP/OTIA).

Estimated at $47m, the homeland security technical, acquisition and business support services task order will see the company provide service support in a number of areas for a period of four years.

Under the terms of the deal, the company will provide services in areas including programme planning, management and execution, business operations and analytics, cost estimating and risk analysis, acquisition workforce training.

MacB’s Mission Systems Group senior vice-president and general manager Fred Norman said: "This win demonstrates our commitment to defending our national security interests at home and abroad.

"We’ll leverage key performance-based acquisition and program management lessons-learned, as we provide technical expertise to deliver innovative solutions, analytical services and acquisition management support for CBP teams working to secure US borders."

Work under the contract will be performed at locations including Arlington, Virginia and Tucson, Arizona, US.

The US Customs and Border Protection works towards providing training and oversight for its acquisition workforce and all programme management offices.

Meanwhile, OTIA aims at improving measures to acquire CBP products and services to facilitate enhanced border security of the nation, by smoothening rightful movement of goods and people.
