Cassidian delivers trunked P25 LMR system to city of Westminster

Cassidian Communications, an EADS North America company, has delivered CORP25 digital, trunked P25 land mobile radio (LMR) system to the city of Westminster, Colorado, US.

Featuring hardware, software, system engineering, installation and maintenance, the new two-site, 10-channel 800MHz CORP25 radio network provides improved coverage and increased capacity for the city of Westminster’s first responders.

In addition to providing better value and quality of life for the community, the CORP25 land mobile radio system enhances public safety communications.

The city of Westminster public safety communications administrator Russ Bowers said, "The city of Westminster wanted a non-proprietary radio system that would allow it to use competitive procurements to provide first responders with the right communications equipment at the right price."

Cassidian Communications Land Mobile Radio division sales vice president Rich Cagle said the city of Westminster strengthens its reputation for both technology innovation and leadership in government with the adoption of the new CORP25 network.

"Unbundling its radio network procurement allowed Westminster to implement a multi-vendor solution that reduced its overall cost of ownership while keeping the city on the front edge of mission-critical communications," Cagle added.
