Point Blank to provide emergency service armour to NYPD

Point Blank Enterprises has been awarded a contract by the New York Police Department’s (NYPD) Emergency Service Unit (ESU) to equip all ESU officers with its Alpha Elite body armour system.

The selection of Point Blank’s Alpha Elite system comes after two years of testing and assessing a range of body armour systems.

In addition to offering dedicated support and advanced equipment to other NYPD units, the agency operates as a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit and NYPD hostage negotiation and rescue team.

Based on DSM’s Dyneema Force Multiplier Technology, the Alpha Elite AXIIIA package, has already met all performance requirements, including assessments for maximum velocity approaching or surpassing 2,000fps.

Deliveries and measurements have already begun for the over 500 NYPD officers.
