Undisclosed Asian military selects RADA’s MHR radar for evaluation

Rada Electronic Industries’ Multi-Mission Hemispheric Radar (MHR) system has been selected for evaluation by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of an undisclosed Asian country.

The customer will test the system over the next one year and its performance and operational requirements for future needs will be determined.

Incorporating four MHRs, the system has been designed to detect low, slow and small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and to provide alerts.

RADA CEO Zvi Alon said: "We are very pleased with the growing interest and acceptance of our radars in the global market, and hope that the potential of this evaluation will materialise in the near future."

The MHR is an S-Band, software-defined, pulse-Doppler, active electronically scanned array radar and provides organic, tactical surveillance solutions for force and border protection applications such as counter rockets and mortars, counter UAVs, ground moving target indicator and air surveillance.

The compact and mobile system features sophisticated beam forming capabilities and advanced signal processing, and enables multiple missions on each radar platform, while offering an unprecedented performance-to-price ratio.

The MHR system is scheduled to be handed over to the customer with immediate effect.

The new customer joins other entities who have acquired the radar systems for evaluation purposes, including a branch of the US military, leading US and European integrators and the Israeli Ministry of Defence (IMOD).

IMOD has selected the system to serve as its national alert system.
