Nicaraguan Customs orders mobile inspection systems from Smiths Detection

Received through Alvimer International, the contract requires the company to supply several of its HCVM T series and HI-SCAN 180180 inspection systems.

The contract also includes technical support and a multi-year warranty, to support plans to modernise and optimise security checks at ports and border crossings in the Central American country.

The HVCM T is a towable X-ray system designed to enable inspection of whole trucks, containers and vehicles, and can be easily moved on any road and site to site, offering flexibility and utilisation across the region.

Towed by a standard truck, the system is ideal for port and border checkpoints, and features enhanced screening and security features such as viZual technology for organic/inorganic material discrimination.

The company will also deliver an advanced dataset management system (DMS) that will facilitate the integration and remote, centralised supervision of the operations at each HCVM T site.

The HI-SCAN 180180 is primarily designed to address the requirements and applications of airports, customs facilities, transportation operations, carriers, parcel services, where the inspection of large pallets and freight container is needed.
