Meggitt demonstrates simulation and live fire systems at CACP Conference

Meggitt Training Systems is set to showcase the FATS L7 virtual system, BlueFire wireless weapon simulators, and live fire range products for a comprehensive weapons training solution at the upcoming annual Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) Conference in Quebec, Canada.

The FATS L7 system presentation will include both marksmanship training and video training modes to highlight a multi-tiered instructional programme.

The marksmanship training ranges from basic to advanced, while judgmental training boosts the officer’s understanding of shoot/don’t shoot situations and the corresponding decision making process.

The system also features collective training of multiple officers simultaneously, enabling them to practice together as a team.

The fully-sensored BlueFire wireless weapon simulators provide greater realism in simulation by maintaining form, fit and function, while allowing tetherless freedom of motion within a training space.

Meggitt Training Systems president Andrea Czop said: "Meggitt Training Systems has a 25-year partnership with Canada’s law enforcement community and its training programmes.

Additionally, the company will demonstrate how marksmanship and scenario-based simulation exercises are successfully blended with live fire training.

The combination of virtual and live fire instruction provides time and cost savings, while enhancing operational performance, preparing officers for potentially lethal situations in a non-lethal training environment.

Other live fire products to be displayed at the event include the XWT GEN3 wireless target carrier, the GranTrap rubber bullet trap and the LE5000 steel escalator bullet trap.

CACP Conference is scheduled to be held at Québec City Convention Centre from 16 to 19 August.
