US Army awards GLASS contract to Jacobs

Jacobs Engineering Group has been awarded a contract to provide Global Logistics and Support Services (GLASS) to the US Army in Rock Island, Ill.

Under the GLASS contract, Jacobs will provide logistics, planning, analysis, acquisition, and life cycle management support services at Rock Island Arsenal.

The company will also provide the services at other locations worldwide that support ongoing US contingency operations.

The contract supports the Army Sustainment Command Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) as well as the Army Contracting Command-Rock Island LOGCAP and Reachback Division.

Jacobs Group vice president Robert Norfleet said, "We are delighted to continue our support to the U.S. Army and to have the opportunity to partner with them in support of U.S. contingency operations."

The task order involves a base period of one year plus two one-year option periods and has a maximum order limit of $135m.

Earlier in 2013, Jacobs Engineering Group was selected for two separate IDIQ contracts by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District.
