Rapid7’s Nexpose receives Federal certifications

Rapid7’s Nexpose Federal Edition vulnerability management product has received Federal certifications to meet FISMA Compliance and to protect against threats from Cyber Espionage, targeted attacks and internal and external threats.

Nexpose has received CyberScope certification, US Government Configuration Baseline (USGCB) Certification and also achieved the Common Criteria certification for Evaluation Assurance level Augmented (EAL3+).

The product enables security posture assesses of the IT systems, for the Federal agencies and government contractors and meets the requirements of the FISMA.

Rapid7 engineering vice president Richard Perkett said that with the recent Rapid7’s Nexpose solution certifications, the federal agencies can identify exploitable vulnerabilities with reduced time and costs associated with achieving FISMA compliance.

"Rapid7’s commitment to product innovation is highlighted by Nexpose’s achievement of receiving one of the first USGCB certifications in the industry and the highest EAL ranking in the vulnerability management industry," Perkett added.

Nexpose Federal Edition enables desktop and laptop computers’ USGCB baseline configurations verifications for the federal agencies and government contractors.

USGCB aims to provide proper baseline configurations for various platforms such as Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 7 Firewall, Windows Vista, Windows Vista Firewall, Windows XP, Windows XP Firewall, Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8.

Users can automatically scan government IT environments of any size for USGCB and FDCC baseline configuration checks, compliance and vulnerabilities using NIST-certified Nexpose.

CyberScope certification enables the Nexpose it to create automated security reports while confirming monthly reporting requirements for the agencies to their of key security metrics.

The CyberScope is the US Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) web-based application mandate and offers federal agencies with secure and efficient FISMA reporting.

The EAL3+ Common Criteria certification to Nexpose enables federal agencies to purchase stringent certification process and rating based product confidently.

The international standard for computer security certification, Common Criteria verifies independent security assurance requirements of a product.
