Nigerian Navy takes delivery of two Nautic patrol boats

Nautic Africa has delivered two 17m long Sentinel multi-role fast patrol vessels to the Nigerian Navy for use in offshore patrol and escort missions.

Being specially built for the Nigerian Navy (NN), the new patrolling vessels will be deployed for general patrolling duties within a 100nm radius as well as for escorting vessels.

Joining the already existing fleet of eight other fast patrol vessels, the new boats are claimed to ensure that the navy’s ability to defend its coastline.

Powered by two MTU 8V 2000 M84L diesel engines each driving a ZF 665A reduction gearbox connected to a MSA Marine Systems surface piecing tunnel propeller, the new patrol vessels offer seating for five people, space for equipment and storage in addition to accommodation for six individuals.

The 895kW engines enable the vessel to offer a range of 400nm, which make them suitable for sea or river missions.

In addition to delivering vessels, Nautic Africa has provided a complete maritime solution to the Nigerian Navy by offering latest, multirole vessels on top of training, maintenance, crewing and 24/7 lifecycle support.

Further, Nautic Africa also delivered several vessels to Nigerian operators including its OPS series of crew/cargo transport vessels to oil and gas customers.

It also laid keel for two 35m Sentinel to assist protecting Nigeria’s offshore oil and gas resources.
