Morpho wins explosives detection systems service contract from US TSA

Morpho Detection, a unit of Morpho (Safran), has been awarded a contract worth $221m to provide CTX explosives detection system (EDS) for the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Under the third-consecutive Integrated Logistics Service (ILS) contract, Morpho will provide Performance Based Logistics (PBL) services such as the preventive, corrective and excepted maintenance actions on TSA’s entire fleet of Morpho CTX EDS for a period of three years.

Additionally, the contract will cover the service requirements for Morpho’s MUX multiplexing networks and software.

In 2013, TSA had awarded Morpho a contract to supply CTX 5800.

Under the five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract valued at $133m, Morpho supplied two stand-alone CTX 5800 EDS as well as ancillary equipment.

In a separate contract signed earlier this year, Morpho will supply medium-speed 40 CTX 9800 DSi explosives detection systems (EDS) to TSA, to be installed at 11 airports across the US.
