Meprolight to deliver weapon sights for Latin American customers

Meprolight has been awarded a contract to deliver MEPRO M5 compact and lightweight red dot weapon sights for customers in Latin America, to meet close quarter battle sight needs for military and law-enforcement forces.

The MEPRO M5 sight has been specifically optimised for shooting with both eyes open, operation with GEN II and III night vision devices, as well as a weapon mounted magnification devices.

Meprolight marketing vice president Golan Kalimi said, "The product range that you see at LAAD 2013 is the result of an ongoing R&D process we pursue, in response to evolving operational needs and customer requirements."

Featuring a 33inx22in display, the 300gm lightweight MIL-STD MEPRO M5 sight can be used for light machine guns, assault rifles and sub-machine guns, while ensuring un-parallelled rapid target acquisition.

The M5 is also equipped with MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail system and is powered by an auto-power on/off single AA battery to provide up to 8,000 hours of operation.

The company has also received multiple orders for its NOA NYX uncooled thermal weapon sights and MEPRO MOR multipurpose reflex sights.

The NOA family of uncooled, high-performance thermal weapon sights will provide to observation and precision target engagement capability for users at distances ranging from 300m under harsh environmental conditions.
