LRAD to deliver LRAD 2000X system for foreign border trial installation

LRAD Corporation has received a contract for the delivery of LRAD 2000X long-range acoustic handling device (AHD) for a foreign border trial installation.

LRAD Corporation president and CEO Tom Brown said that the LRAD 2000X AHD system has been designed for border and large perimeter security applications.

Following the successful installation trial, the company is expected to receive large follow-on orders for the systems.

The LRAD 2000X AHD is capable of broadcasting powerful warning tones and multi-language voice messages in a 30°- 60° beam over a coverage area of up to 8,900m.

"We received requests from international customers for a LRAD system that provides them the ability to significantly increase standoff zones and secure remote areas through broadcasting powerful voice commands with high intelligibility over greater distances," Brown said.

The LRAD 2000X AHD’s rugged construction enables low operating power requirements while the flexible mounting with several options meets stringent Mil-Spec standards.

"With civil unrest continuing to escalate around the world, the LRAD 2000X offers governments and their security agencies a more humane and cost-effective means to control their sovereign borders."

Additional features of the system include directional audio broadcast to enable superior voice intelligibility and clarity with high intelligibility far beyond standoff distances.

Capable of issuing clear, authoritative verbal commands with powerful deterrent tones to enhance response capabilities, the LRAD 2000X system also supports full military and sustainment programme.
