Implant Sciences’ QS-H150 detectors to protect major sporting event

Implant Sciences’ Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 handheld explosives trace detector have been purchased for use at a public sporting event being held in London, England.

Implant Sciences’ vice president of Global Sales and Marketing Dr. Darryl Jones said, "Its portability and radiation-free design means it can go anywhere, while its ease of use allows rapid training of security staff."

The QS-H150 detector feature patented vortex collector and Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) technology to detect and trace amounts of a wide variety of military, commercial, and homemade explosives with or without physical contact and in real-time.

The detector quickly alerts the user upon detecting or identifying a threat substance, thus limiting equipment contamination and allowing for ultra-fast clear-down.

Capable of providing high levels of operational availability, the Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 also features a low-maintenance, self-calibrating, and self-clearing design.

The advanced portable Quantum Sniffer also indicates parts-per-trillion (ppt) levels of explosives vapour and nanogram quantities of explosives particulates for threat substances through a visible and audible alarm.

Under the Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technology Act of 2002 (the SAFETY Act), the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has designated the detector as Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology.

The QS-H150 can operate in a wide variety of temperatures and in harsh environments including humid jungles to dry, sand swept deserts.

The system had been used for security during the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2011 Summer Universiade Games.
