iGT’s iDX 3.2.3 software to beef up bandwidth, throughputs for military and intelligence use

iDirect Government Technologies (iGT) has launched its latest iDX 3.2.3 software, which it claims will offer increased bandwidth and higher throughputs for the military, intelligence and public safety communities.

The software’s adaptive time division multiple access (ATDMA) feature enhances return channel performance, while boosting network availability under rain fade and satellite link degradation.

Further, the latest version also allows designing networks for a typical case scenario rather than worst-case scenario, saving time, costs and complexity without any impact on performance.

Further, ATDMA allows consumers to boost their network throughputs, beef up network availability, while reducing bandwidth and terminal costs or integrate them to support high-speed Communications on the Move (COTM) in maritime, terrestrial and airborne environments.

iGT Technology vice-president Karl Fuchs said that the latest software release incorporates new features that increase the availability and reliability of satellite communications in harsh and remote environments where military, intelligence and public safety agencies rely on consistent connections.

"By maximising availability and bandwidth savings with ATDMA on both the inbound and outbound carriers, agencies are better able to use airborne and COTM to meet their satcom connectivity needs whether for voice, video or data communications in the air, on the ground or at sea," Fuchs added.

The new software is awaiting approval for deployment in Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 Level 2-compliant remotes and line cards.

Each of the multichannel demod line card can support eight inbound channels with transmission security (TRANSEC), and even comply with Wideband Global Satcom requirements.

Other features of the new software include waveform enhancements, improved DVB-S2 carrier roll-off, mission-critical applications connectivity and security and specialised demodulators support high-speed COTM.
