Getac launches body worn camera for law enforcement documentation

Taiwan-based rugged computer manufacturer Getac has launched Veretos body worn camera for the law enforcement and other government agencies.

The latest product joins the company’s suite of mobile, wearable, and building surveillance video and audio capture solutions for law enforcement documentation.

Getac president Scott Shainman said: "With the addition of the body worn camera to our Veretos product line, Getac now provides a complete video and audio capture and management solution for law enforcement departments.

The camera features a 116-degree wide angle lens to facilitate a broader video coverage of a scene.

Additionally, the dust and water resistant camera features a 90-second pre-record function that facilitates immediate capturing of any violation of law, consequently preventing it.

The company claims that the camera is capable of withstanding extreme temperatures, shock, and vibration. The camera incorporates night vision support up to 0.01 Lux.

Combined with Veretos Video system and Veretos Cloud secure evidence management system the new body worn camera will provide enhanced capabilities for the law enforcement officials.

The product has been designed to comply with the security demands of government agencies as well as public safety establishments.

The solution joins Getacs security product suite that includes Veretos MVS kit, which features a ZeroDark HD camera with enhanced night vision for front mounting, 5in display control unit with multi-touch technology, backseat camera, wireless microphone, cables and video software.
