Georgia’s Homeland Security and SAR teams to conduct training exercises

Georgia’s Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security and Urban Search and Rescue (SAR) teams are set to conduct a multi-team training exercise at Guardian Centers, an advanced training center.

The training exercise will be held in collaboration with FDNY all hazard incident management team.

Under the proposed programme, Georgia teams will serve as part of the FDNY All Hazard Incident Management Team training exercise.

The training exercise is expected to challenge 400 of the most experienced first responders in the nation, orchestrating an effective response to a major earthquake at local, state and federal levels.

Guardian Centers founder and CEO Geoff Burkart said: "We are proud to host our home state of Georgia for a rigorous training exercise that will conclude with these experienced first responders serving as part of the FDNY All Hazard Incident Management Team.

"At Guardian Centers we will be able to simulate the challenging environment created by a major earthquake in a metropolitan city enabling the multi-state, multi-agency team to quickly test and orchestrate an effective response before lives are ever on the line."

Guardian Centers, the disaster preparedness and tactical training campus features a 75-acre metroplex, creating a single site to test plans, people and equipment, eliminating the need for multiple drills and multiple sites.

It offers training opportunities ranging from technical rescue, hazmat, all cbrne disciplines, toxic industrial material releases, subway system, highway tunnel system, residential flooding, kinetic operations and force protection, road and highway operations among others.
