GD to offer operational support services to US joint forces development programme

General Dynamics (GD) Information Technology has received a contract from the US Joint Staff J7 (Director, Joint Force Development) to offer operational support services to the Joint Force Development programme.

Under the $876.9m five-year, multiple-award, IDIQ contract, GD will be responsible for the provision of continuously adaptive education, training assessments, experimentation and infrastructure for training and real-world operations.

The contract also involves executing specific tasks such as concept development and planning; logistics; modelling and simulation; architecture design; model management and operations; scenario development; distributed learning and courseware development; event response and control cells and facility operations.

As part of the work to be carried in Virginia and various locations across the world, GD will also create future joint training environments and assess and evaluate new equipment.

General Dynamics Information Technology Navy, Air Force and Joint Services sector vice president and general manager Rich Farinacci said the company has been delivering adaptive, integrated joint and coalition warfighting support services.

"Our highly experienced team understands the Joint Forces challenges and has the expertise necessary to deliver high-impact services across all Joint Force Development functions, tasks and missions," Farinacci added.

GD has earlier supported the agency and its predecessor the US Joint Forces Command for the work since 1999. The programmes include the Joint Experimentation Program (JEXP), Joint Concept Development and Experimentation Core and Business Sustainment (JCD&E Core),

Also included are programmes, such as Joint Concept Development and Experimentation Projects Support (JCD&E Projects), Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC), Joint Irregular Warfare Center (JIWC) and Joint Systems Integration Center (JSIC).
