DataPath introduces new information service packages to secure communications networks

US-based DataPath has introduced new Cyber Security Solutions, which includes different information assurance service packages developed to meet the needs of remote communications networks.

The new products are also designed to protect the communications networks of operations in remote and abrasive environments.

DataPath software and cyber solutions vice-president Peggy Rowe said: "Remote communications, such as satellite and wireless networks, have vulnerabilities specific to their technologies.

"By leveraging DataPath’s combination of satellite networking and cyber security expertise, organizations with remote operations can have the peace of mind that their networks employ solutions tailored to their unique requirements."

By using efficient tools, the new service packages will evaluate communications network’s infrastructure, identify vulnerabilities and create a customised security plan.

The solutions are provided in three easy to understand service levels, including Essential, Assurance and Vigilance.

Ranging from basic assessments, the services will support the customer’s existing IT staff round the clock and respond quickly to the incidents.

Cyber Security Solutions additional services comprise network certification and accreditation, compliance assurance and post incident investigation.

As per PwC report titled "Managing cyber risks in an interconnected world: Key findings from The Global State of Information Security Survey 2015," the cyber security incidents in 2014 have increased to 48% reaching 42.8 million or around 117,000 attacks per day.

The report also cited that the average financial loss due to these attacks was $2.7m per incident, an increase of 34% compared to 2013.
