AB Elektronik to showcase HALOSENSOR range at Farnborough 2012

TT electronics subsidiary AB Elektronik is displaying its HALOSENSOR drill targeting system at the ongoing Farnborough International Airshow, which runs from 9-15 July 2012 in the UK.

Designed to accurately locate blind holes in complex or curved structures including aircraft wing assemblies, from 2mm to 100mm, the HALOSENSOR system eliminates the need for drilling pilot holes from inside while also avoiding re-work or scrap.

The rugged HALOSENSOR range features NANO devices that can cope with tighter radius curved surfaces or situations of limited access.

TT electronics Technology business manager Richard Hughes said, "Demand for the drill targeting system has been such that we are now actively seeking additional distributors to cover selected territories."

"Although this is not our first Farnborough, we are particularly looking forward to showing HALOSENSOR® this year to new aerospace customers, both civil and military," Hughes added.

The company is also showcasing robotic solutions which can interface with a customer’s existing manufacturing systems including HALOSENSOR drill targeting system or can be used manually, as reported by Militaryaerospace.

The HALOSENSOR drill targeting system is being used by Bombardier, Embraer, Boeing, BAE Systems, EADS-CASA and Lockheed Martin.

Airbus is also using the system since 2003 for the production of all its aircraft.
