Agrale Marruá AM200 G2 Utility Vehicle, Brazil
The first prototype of the Agrale Marruá AM200 G2 4x4 double-cabin utility vehicle, configured for security missions, was unveiled at LAAD Defence & Security 2015 exhibition held in Brazil.
The new generation vehicle, developed by Brazilian company Agrale, is intended for use by the police and special operations forces in missions such as patrol and guard, fire-fighting and rescue in rural or difficult-to-access places. The vehicle can also be configured for civilian applications.
An Agrale Marruá AM 200 double-cabin vehicle was delivered to the Military Police of Caxias do Sul in May 2014.
Design and features of Agrale Marruá G2 utility vehicle
The Agrale Marruá AM200 G2 utility vehicle features galvanised steel body with rigid roof design. It is available in both double-cab version with bucket and dual chassis cab without bucket.
The vehicle has an overall length of 5.34m, a width of 2.18m and a maximum height of 1.96m. The distance between the axles is 3.35m. Total gross weight of the vehicle is 4,300kg and the kerb weight is 2,910kg. The vehicle can carry loads up to 1,390kg.
The double-cabin vehicle's spacious interior and improved ergonomics provide comfortable seating for up to five personnel including a driver. The cabin is accessed through two wide doors fitted on both sides. The vehicle is equipped with a new removable back cover that enables access to the bucket. The windows offer all-round view for the occupants.
The Agrale Marruá AM200 G2 security vehicle can be fitted with roof-mounted LED lights, reverse camera, parking sensor, anti-theft system, global positioning system, bull bar, skid plate, fog lights, computer system, running boards, tail lights, heating system and side marker lights. It can be optionally installed with an air-conditioning unit, electric winch and a snorkel.
A four-cylinder Cummins ISF 2.8 diesel engine powers the Agrale Marruá utility vehicle, enabling it to deliver superior off-road performance. The engine has a generating capacity of 150hp at 3,200rpm and develops a torque of 360nm at 1,800rpm to 2,700rpm. It is coupled to a manual five-speed Eaton FS 2305 C or FSO 4505 E transmission system. Fuel capacity of the vehicle is 100l.
Marauder Patrol is a new lightweight 4x4 protected utility vehicle developed by South African defence and aerospace company Paramount Group.
Front suspension is provided by longitudinal bars, panhard and coil springs, while rear suspension is provided by rigid axle with semi-elliptic springs. The LT STR 265/75R16 tires deliver a smoother ride.
The vehicle has telescopic double-action front and rear shock absorbers, and uses five forward gears and one reverse gear. Its hydraulic servo-assisted steering system, equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), delivers high security and control.
Electrical equipment installed in the vehicle include a 12V/70Ah battery and a 12V/120A alternator. The vehicle also features DANA 44.3 front traction axle, DANA 70 rear traction axle, disc brakes on front wheels, drum brakes on rear wheels, and pedal-operated parking brakes.
Performance of the 4x4 police vehicle
The Agrale Marruá 4x4 utility vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 95.7km/h and can negotiate grades of 60% and side slopes of 30%. Its approach and departure angles are 57° and 30° respectively. The wall-to-wall turning circle diameter is 16.7m.
