OCEA to deliver five boats to Philippines Coast-Guards

The Philippines Coast-Guards has chosen OCEA for the delivery of five boats, of which four are fast patrol boats and one an offshore patrol vessel.

OCEA will have to develop four fast-patrol boats of 24m type OCEA FPB 72 MKII; and one offshore patrol vessel of 84m type OCEA OPV 270. Besides, it will be responsible for crew and maintenance teams training as well as maintenance of these vessels.

The solutions are expected to enable reduction of operational costs and CO2 emissions.

OCEA fast patrol boat FPB 72MKII (24m) has been delivered to Nigeria twice – once in 2012 and then in 2017; and Suriname in 2013.

OCEA has already delivered 60m units to the Indonesian Navy in 2015 and to the Senegalese Navy in 2016.

These units will be developed in the new facilities of OCEA shipyard in Les Sables d’Olonne.

OCEA invested in its production facilities and design capabilities in 2015.

The benefits provided by OCEA solution were its competitive acquisition price as well as the operational cost of the vessel.

Further, OCEA OPV 270 will enable CO2 emission reduction of 20 400 tons, or around 40% reduction by comparison to a similar size steel vessel, over 20 years of operation.

Four FPB 72 are slated for delivery in 2018 and OPV 270 in 2019.
