UK Government awards cyber security contract to Northrop

Northrop Grumman is one of the firms being awarded a contract by the UK Government to deliver a range of cyber security solutions.

Under the seven-year framework contract, Northrop will deliver engineering and development services in support of data security and information assurance to the government.

Northrop Grumman Information Systems corporate vice-president and president Kathy Warden said: "As a long-standing partner with the U.K. government, we are proud to have been selected to support the security of their digital domain and the protection of its citizens."

In addition, Northrop also collaborated with Cyber Security Challenge UK to roll out a youth-based cyber defence competition, CyberCenturion, to motivate the new generation to join the cyber security work force.

Northrop also established an Advanced Cyber Technology Centre of Excellence in England, which is a global collaboration initiative to deliver high-end cyber solutions to customers.

Northrop Grumman Europe chief executive Andrew Tyler said: "We have a well-established and growing presence in the U.K. and this strategically important contract award reflects the strong customer relationships that we have established here over the years."
