Two US transportation customers contract Kratos for critical infrastructure security

US-based Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, national security solutions provider has announced the award of a contract from two major mass transportation customers in US.

Valued at $3.6m, the contract was awarded to Kratos' Public Safety & Security Division (PSS).

As per the contract, the company will be responsible for design, build and integration of specialised security systems into command and control infrastructure.

The security systems to be delivered include access control, video surveillance, analytics, communications, security assets and infrastructure.

Installation work of the security systems will be carried out in the next few months.

Kratos public safety & security solutions division president Ben Goodwin said: "We are honoured that our customers trust and have selected Kratos for the deployment of these unique and specialised security systems for the protection of their critical transportation infrastructure."

PSS specialises in deployment and system integration into command and control infrastructure of specialised security systems to safeguard important critical infrastructure, strategic assets and public safety venues in US.

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions is a mid-tier government contractor at the forefront of the US Department of Defense's Third Offset Strategy. The company also specialises in developing unmanned aerial drone target systems used to test weapon systems.

It also has expertise in satellite communications, microwave electronics, cyber security/warfare, missile defence and combat systems.
