Rockwell implements ARINC Border Management solution in Vietnam airports

US-based Rockwell Collins has deployed its ARINC Border Management solution at all international airports in Vietnam.

Earlier this year, the company signed an agreement with the Civil Authority of Vietnam to implement its solution in the airports across the country.

Immigration official in charge Nguyen Dinh Dung said: "In addition to our organisation, Vietnam’s airlines have responded positively to the system’s ease of use and the support provided by Rockwell Collins in implementation and troubleshooting.

"With the increased passenger traffic into Vietnam and continuous global security threats, it becomes ever more crucial for governments like ours to invest in such technology to strengthen security."

Currently, 41 air lines in the country are reporting through the system.

ARINC Border Management solution is said to offer analysis and deciphering of advance passenger information (API) data, system monitoring, troubleshooting and training.

It enables the government and airport authorities in the country to review the passenger information before the aircraft lands and optimise efficiency and passenger flow, as well as improving the overall border security and control.

Rockwell Collins IMS Asia Pacific managing director Heament John Kurian said: "We’ve configured the solution for Vietnam to process this data and present it to the airport authorities in a consistent and legible format.

"These enhanced features provide validation of key aspects of the data that fall within defined ranges and highlight when information is out of the defined parameters."

Rockwell’s ARINC Border Management solution is also deployed in other Asian countries such as Korea, Taiwan, Maldives, China, Japan and India.
