OSI Systems receives $23m contract from US Department of Defense


OSI Systems’ security division has been awarded a two-year extension of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract from the US Department of Defense.

Under the $23m contract, OSI Systems will provide training, service and logistics support for its Rapiscan cargo and vehicle inspection systems.

OSI Systems chairman and CEO Deepak Chopra said: “We look forward to continuing to support the efforts of our customer to provide security for critical infrastructure.”

OSI Systems focuses on developing specialised electronic systems and components to be used in critical applications in the homeland security, healthcare, defense and aerospace industries.

With its headquarters in California, the company has nearly 40 years of electronics engineering and manufacturing experience, and has production facilities in more than 12 countries.

OSI Systems’ security division Rapiscan Systems delivers security screening products and services globally. 

It provides various products under the categories of baggage and parcel inspection; cargo and vehicle inspection; people screening; radiation detection and also explosives and narcotics trace detection. 

Further, the company provides designing, installation, training and technical support services to its clients.

Besides security division, the company has a healthcare division and optoelectronics division.
