Implant Sciences delivers explosives trace detector systems to Asian customers

Implant Sciences has started deliveries of QS-H150 and QS-B220 explosives trace detection systems to several Asian customers for deployment in military, aviation security, and critical infrastructure protection applications.

The shipment is worth more than $750,000.

Implant Sciences Sales and Marketing global vice-president Dr Darryl Jones said: "Asia continues to remain a strong market for the company, and our certification successes have helped build our sales in the region even more.

"Our year-to-date shipments to Asian customers for FY2015 already exceed all of last year, and we have additional opportunities in the pipeline."

Using the Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS), the QS-B220 system rapidly detects and identifies trace amounts of a wide variety of military, commercial and homemade explosives as well as illicit drugs.

Compared to other detection systems, the QS-B220 has significantly lower maintenance requirements and it can be deployed for a much lower total cost of ownership than other approved products.

The QS-B220 features a radioactive material-free design, push-button maintenance and diagnostics, and a patented inCal internal automatic calibration system.

The QS-H150 also uses IMS technology to provide fast, accurate detection of trace amounts of a wide variety of military, commercial, and homemade explosives.
