Customs Agency in Latin America selects AS&E’s sentry portal system

American Science and Engineering (AS&E) has been awarded a contract by a Customs Agency in Latin American to deliver the sentry portal cargo screening system to detect and examine cargo at a border crossing.

AS&E’s president and CEO Anthony Fabiano said that the order for the sentry portal by the Customs Agency in Latin America marks the first deployment.

Sentry portal high-throughput, high-penetration, drive-through cargo inspection solution is used to screen cargo safely and effectively for explosive threats, drugs, and other contraband.

The system can detect hidden threatening materials, weapons, and contraband in cargo containers, without obstructing the flow of commerce.

The sentry portal system also delivers unique combination of high-throughput capability and unsurpassed image quality and ensures safe drive-through operation for drivers, operators, and cargo.

In addition to drive-through detection capability, the sentry portal system can inspect a very high percentage of cargo using a high-energy transmission x-ray source with high-penetration into inspected objects.

The compact footprint of the system enables it to be installed easily in areas with space constraints.
